Ralph Avery
American, 1906 - 1976
Avery was born in 1906 in Savannah, Georgia. He was a watercolor artist and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1928 where he was a faculty member of the Department of Applied Art for 25 years. He often painted scenes from the local area that consisted of gray, foggy views of the downtown skyline, portraits of old city homes, and abstractions of natural areas from the surrounding landscape. Avery died in 1976 in Rochester, NY.
