Kenneth Evett
Evett was born in 1913 in Colorado and he received an MFA in painting from Colorado College in 1939 and also studied at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
Evett has exhibited in national group shows at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. His works are in the collections of the Munson-William-Proctor Institute in Utica, NY and Cornell’s Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art.
He also wrote essys on art and exhibitions for The New Republic from 1972-1977 and for The Book Press in the mid- 1990s and was elected into the National Academy of Design in 1994.
Evett died on May 28, 2005 in Ithaca, New York.
